I. Undergraduate

1. Application requirements

a) Over 16 years old (by Dec 25th, including Dec 25th at the year of application)

b) Holding High school or higher degree/diploma

c) Healthy and non-Chinese citizen

d) New HSK4 or above

2. Application Materials

a) Southwest Jiaotong University Application Form for International Students

b) Academic diploma: a photocopy of the applicant’s latest academic diploma or certificate of university education.

c) Academic record: the original transcript of academic record (copies are not acceptable).

d) A photocopy of the applicant’s passport

e) A photocopy of the ID of the applicant’s emergency contact

f) A photocopy of HSK certificate

g) Foreigner Physical Examination Result

h) A photocopy of the application fee payment receipt (for on-line payment)

3. Application duration and registration time

a) Application duration: from September 1st of each year to July 20th of next year

b) Registration time:  the beginning of September of each year

4. Application Process

a) Application materials and registration fee should be submitted or mailed to the International Students Office of SWJTU before the application deadline.

b) After application materials examination, the International Students Office of SWJTU will mail the qualified applicants both the Visa Application for Study in China(JW201/202 Form) and Admission Notice.

c) The applicants must go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home country with the Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China (JW201/202 Form)  to apply for the student entry visa.

d) Students must register at the International Students Office of SWJTU on time in accordance with the detailed requirements in the Admission Notice.

II. Master

1. Application requirement

a) Over 16 years old (by Dec 25th, including Dec 25that the year of application)

b) Holding Bachelor’s degree or diploma or equivalent to Chinese Bachelor’s degree

c) Healthy and non-Chinese citizen

d) New HSK5 or above (majors taught in Chinese)

2. Application Materials

a) On-line registration.

b) Download and fill the Southwest Jiaotong University Application Form for International Students, then mail all the following paper materials to International Students Office of SWJTU:

Academic diploma: a photocopy of the applicant’s latest academic diploma or certificate of university education.

Research Proposal（No less than 800 words）

A photocopy of the applicant’s passport

d) Students must register at the International Students Office of SWJTU on time in accordance with the detailed requirements in the Admission Notice.

V. Exchange Students

d) Students must register at the International Students Office of SWJTU on time in accordance with the detailed requirements in the Admission Notice.

VI. Short-Term Program

1. Application Materials

a) Application Duration: all year round

b) Open time: two months after application approval

3. Application Process

a) Application form (including other application materials) and registration fee should be submitted or mailed to the International Students Office of SWJTU before the application deadline.

b) After  examination of application materials, the International Students Office of SWJTU will mail the qualified applicants the Invitation Letter.

c) Students must go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home countries with the Invitation Letter to apply for the student entry visa.

d) Students must register at the International Students Office of SWJTU on time in accordance with the detailed requirements in the  Invitation Letter.

VII. Engineering Internship

1. Application Materials

Download and fill the Southwest Jiaotong University Application Form for International Students in Download Center, then mail all the required paper materials to International Students Office of SWJTU

2. Application Duration

March 1st to May 30th of each academic year

3. Application Process

a) Application form (including other application materials) and registration fee should be submitted or mailed to the International Students Office of SWJTU before the application deadline.

b) After application materials examination, the International Students Office of SWJTU will mail the qualified applicants the Invitation Letter.

c) Students must go to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their home countries with the Invitation Letter to apply for the student entry visa.

d) Students must register at the International Students Office of SWJTU on time in accordance with the detailed requirements in the Invitation Letter.
